Bridgy vs Chard

| 11/03/2017

Bridgwater and Albion make the trip to play at Chard on Saturday where they face a side that is currently next to the bottom of the table and desperate to try to avoid relegation.

Simon Morrell the Albion head coach is only too well aware of the challenge that his side face and on Friday morning said: “This is a huge game and as we found last week the teams that are swirling about at the lower end can punch well above their weight at this time in the season.

“We know that we are going to be really tested at the set pieces at Chard, they are going to be really aggressive in the contact areas added to which they have got a lot more to threaten with across the backline than Kingsbridge had last week.

“This is a really tricky game for us and mind set wise we have to be absolutely on it or else we wont get the result that we want.

Simon went on: “Chard have added to their side since the last time we played them at home. We had it too easy to early in that game and switched off and didn’t respect the dog areas of the game, the bits you have to do but we didn’t which brought them back into the game. However in the second half we played well and executed our game plan well.

“We know that on Saturday that we are going to have to play well but we are confident as always that if we get it spot on then we will get the win, but we know its going to come at a price.”

This week the Albion side will be missing some familiar faces, however the head coach has got confidence in those who are in the starting squad.

“Credit to the group we are strong and whenever guys have stepped up from the second team so those who get their chance tomorrow face a big challenge. If those who step up take their chance then we will be there or thereabouts at the end of the game.”

A reminder to those travelling down the M5 to Chard is that the game starts at 2pm.
