Update on 1st XV points position…….

| 27/09/2015

Our ‘victory’ yesterday due to the absence of Coney Hill is showing on the RFU results page putting us top with 18 points. However, our points difference remains at 32 – which could have an effect at the end of the season. It appears from this that we are assumed to have scored four tries in the ‘victory’ but these are not counted as part of points scored.

Current RFU regulation 13.6.11 (d) (1) states:
“An adjustment of match points will be made if either of the clubs involved in the unplayed match is a contender for promotion (league winners or runners up) or relegation by virtue of an equal number of League Points.”

We will have to rely on the league to sort this out at the end of the season – if it is needed.
