ALBION MOURN SAD LOSS OF FORMER HON SECRETARY – CHRIS LLEWELLYN

Club members will have been saddened on learning the news of the death of former Hon Secretary Chris Llewellyn on 6 February.  Chris was a life-long Albion supporter and coming from Monmouth Street where his parents John and Jean were also loyal supporters, then he was always betwixt the two grounds which he would have known – Broadway Ground and College Way.  Chris was our Hon Secretary in the 1996/7 season but over several years both he and his wife Karen supported the club in other activities with particular reference to fundraising.

Chris and Karen then turned their hands to become publicans at The Cobblestones where they held tenure for many successful years.  They certainly raised the profile of Real Ale in the town and pioneered in-pub beer festivals as well as supplying a wide range of music to their expanding clientele.

Their son Daniel started mini and junior rugby with the club to maintain the family attachment.

The club sends its sincere condolences to Karen and her family on this sad loss.
