KEN RICHARDS 1928 – 2018 – Civic Dignitary with Albion Attachments

| 14/02/2018

Bridgwater & Albion was sad to learn of the death of Ken Richards on 29 January aged 89.  Ken has always been well-known in Bridgwater mainly through his work principally at British Cellophane and as an official with the Transport and General Workers Union; also as a long-time Bridgwater Town Councillor and five times Mayor of the town.  He also had rugby football attachments to both Bridgwater & Albion and North Petherton being a player at both clubs for short periods.

Ken was a great “Bridgwater Man” in that he supported all things local and was always a keen observer of Bridgwater & Albion’s exploits both on and off the field.

He has served the community considerably over all of his life and gone about his work with considerable dignity.  The town is fortunate to have benefited from his commitment and the club offers its sincere condolences to Ken’s family.
