Simon far from unhappy….

| 19/12/2016

Bridgwater and Albion head coach Simon Morrell was far from unhappy with the outcome of his teams match against top of the table Weston super Mare on Saturday.

“Weston are a cut above the rest of the team in this league and a really quality side so we knew what to expect when we played against them.

“Comparing where we were when  we played them back in September to how we were on Saturday was that we had eight or nine of the boys who really stood up at the weekend, whereas we didn’t have that the last time we met.

“The bigger picture for me is that we are building a nice little squad and in the New Year when we hope to have all the boys who are injured back on the pitch we can move forward.”

Talking about a few of the individuals who stood out on Saturday the head coach said: “Roger Drabble played exceptionally well for us at Weston and Tom Fournier D’Albe, who was back from university had an absolute stormer for us, Dan Kemmish played really well- like he always does and Ollie Dunn was amazing.

Morrell added:” We fought hard at Weston and there were a lot more positives to pick out of the game than the score line suggested.”

The Albion end the first part of the season in eighth place in South West One (West) having won half of their 14 league matches.

Like all sides Albion take a two week break before re-commencing their league action with a home fixture against Newent on Saturday January 7th.
