For the last time this season….. IT’S GAME DAY!!!

| 18/04/2015 | 1 Reply

Today we bring the curtain down on our seniors season. The 1st XV have their final season game at College Way this afternoon where they take on St Austell.

St Austell managed a win against Bridgwater in the first game of the season but since then their season has been a little disappointing. They are languishing in the bottom position of South West 1 West where they are resigned to their fate of relegation for next season. They will however be looking to go down with a bang and will be desperate to finish on a win.
The Bridgy boys will be looking to ensure their third place in the league and need at least 4 points today to guarantee this. They will led out at 3pm by Team Captain and BIRTHDAY BOY Ollie Dunn.
Well done for a memorable season lads, let’s finish with a flourish. Kick off is 3pm

The 2nd XV travel the short distance to Cheddar Valley for their last game of the season. Again, the Bridgy boys will be taking on the current bottom of the league club, however with a win Cheddar Valley can climb at least two spots. The 2nd XV are firmly ensconced in 4th place in the league but will be looking for their 17th victory of the season to end another great league effort on a high.

At 5pm at College Way, we have a bonus game for you. The 3rd XV (plus cameo appearances from many others) will be taking on Somerton (and others) in a friendly game to mark the occasion of Club President Mike Berry’s 50th year of playing for Bridgy and also his last match as following today’s game he will be hanging up his boots. Let’s make this game a game to remember and help Mike celebrate his marvellous achievement.

As always, good luck to all teams and of course COME ON THE BRIDGY BOYS and especially Mike Berry!!!
