On a sumptuous day for rugby, both teams looked to play some attractive rugby and the crowd was certainly not disappointed. Bridgwater started well with a sustained period of early dominance all round the park. Following some sustained forward pressure the backs were released and a delicate chip, by Stradling, over the opposing back line […]

No excuses says Kevin (10/10/12)

Head coach Kevin Innalls made no excuses for the way that his team played on Saturday when they were beaten 24-14 by Paignton at Bath Road. Reflecting on the game Kevin said: “We put in a very poor performance on Saturday. I thought that we were out muscled by a more physical side, we were […]

In a game littered with stoppages and lasting almost two hours from kick off to the final whistle, Paignton bounced back from last week’s home defeat and produced yet another home defeat for Bridgwater. Bridgwater were missing the suspended Garryn Basson but welcomed back Matt House, Nick Spellissy and Chris Webber and, in an effort […]

Bridgwater and Albion head coach Kevin Innalls was far from despondent when he reflected on the game at Sidmouth on Saturday. “Some of our defending was very poor and certainly not up to the standard that we expect. We gave them too much of a head start in the early part of the game.” “I always felt […]

Bridgwater & Albion, having had an exemplary discipline record for the first four matches of the season, somehow ended this match with only thirteen players as both Roger Drabble and Garryn Basson were given red cards by Devon referee, Ben Chadwick, in the final ten minutes of the game. With disciplinary hearings to be held in […]

Reflecting on the Bridgwater and Albion performance at the weekend, head coach Kevin Innalls said: “I don’t think that we were on form at all on Saturday against Wadebridge Camels. Whether we went to sleep and just expected things to happen I’m not sure, but I’m very disappointed.” Kevin went on: “In the second half […]

This was a true humdinger of a match where Albion were undone at the last, by the loss through injury of both scrum and fly halves, and their full back in the bin thirteen minutes from full time, plus a seemingly endless stream of replacements from Wellingtons virtually two Colts sides.  The home side were […]

On a bright sunny day, in ideal conditions for high quality rugby, Bridgwater attacked downhill in the first half. Cary knocked the ball on when receiving the kick off which allowed Bridgwater to immediately force themselves upon the opposition. Early pressure from the Albion pack with good support from the backline, allowed Roger Drabble to […]

This was a game that Bridgwater would have targeted as a home win but it was not to be as the Cornish side generally out-muscled the Somerset side. Bridgwater lost a number of scrums against the head and could not cope with Wadebridge throwing to the tail of the line-out, where the visitors reigned supreme. […]
