Baby Brakes-a first for happy couple & for Bridgwater & Albion
Bridgwater & Albion RFC sends its sincere congratulations to Michelle Blackford & James Forrest Brakes the very proud & happy parents of daughter Penelope Brakes who was born on 15 September. Both Michelle & James have been connected with the club for a long time-both having come up through the club’s junior & youth junior development programme & subsequently play as Seniors. Michelle has been a key member of our burgeoning Womens XV & a recent captain; James has played in all three of our senior sides & has stood on 48 1st XV appearances for several seasons (perhaps he will break the magic 50 mark soon!)
Penelope who weighed in at a healthy 7lb1oz is the first ever B&A baby to be welcomed into the world& produced by two active players. Already the happy parents are anticipating that Penelope will follow in their footsteps & they are looking forward to exchanging nappies for rugby boots when the time is ripe-they have certainly done their bit in keeping Albion’s production line going.
Mother (& father)& Penelope are doing well-so well that Penelope witnessed her first match as early as Wednesday evening-what she made of it remains to be seen but her presence was a positive step in her future Albion attachment.
We all wish the family well & good luck in Penelope’s upbringing.
