Bridgwater & Albion RFC 2nd XV 41-26 Chard 2nd XV

Bridgwater & Albion RFC 2nd XV bounced back to winning ways when they gave their best performance of the season to beat their Chard counterparts on Saturday afternoon at College Way.

The Bridgy Boys started strongly and 15 minutes into the game a good driving maul  was rounded off with an unconverted try for Ash Chorley.  The hosts doubled their lead when Jake Roberts went over in the corner. Five minutes later Ethan Trebble-Westlake made it 15-0 with another unconverted try.

Chard then started to get themselves into the game with a converted try.  Subsequently Aidan Robinson went over for a try. The visitors rounded off the scoring in the first half with an unconverted try to make it 20-12 at the interval.

Will Kerry gave the home side a great start after the break when he went crashing over to score a try.  Ollie Phillips converted.

Chard narrowed the gap with a converted try before Ollie Phillips went over for his first score of the year which he then added the extras to.

The visitors were far from done and scored another try close to the posts which got converted  to make it 34-26.

The home side extended their lead late on in the game when Trebble- Westlake went over for his second try of the match that Phillips duly converted making the final score 41-26 to Bridgwater and Albion.

Team manager Brendan Goddard said afterwards: “This is the best we have played this season so far, so lets keep it up for our home game against Wiveliscombe this Saturday so come on down and support us.”
