| 31/03/2025

Bridgwater & Albion RFC bounced back to winning ways when they beat Gordon League at College Way on Saturday afternoon.  A result that lifts them up to sixth place in the league table.

In a match that was combative from the off and was scrappy at times, the Albion ran in six tries to earn themselves a bonus point.

The hosts made a quick start.  An early run down the left by Jono Hayes was ended by an illegal tackle.  This resulted in the offending Gordon League player being shown a yellow card.

The hosts continued their early pressure and on 15 minutes, they were eventually rewarded.  Captain Taylor Buller crashed over left of the posts for a try.  Kyran Devitt then converted.

Five minutes later, Albion extended their lead when a tap penalty on the five-metre line saw Jon Hill go over for a try.  Devitt again added the extras to.

Danger was cleared by Bridgwater & Albion RFC player

On 25 minutes, Gordon League made their first trip deep into home territory, but the danger was cleared by a a good cross field clearance into touch by Jay Owens. From the ensuing line out the ball was moved across the backs before Devitt went over in the left corner.

In the final few minutes before the break Albion continued to press and in the end it was Rowan Traynor who crossed the line for a try which Devitt converted to make the half time score 26-0.

The visitors began the second half looking more determined.  Five minutes after the restart, the hosts were reduced to 14 when Karolis Urbonas was yellow carded. The penalty that was awarded was kicked to touch.  Then from the line out and following pressure, Gordon League opened their account with a converted try from Joe Syum.

Visitors grew in confidance
