Bridgwater & Albion RFC Second XV 82 – 0 Chard RFC Second XV

Bridgwater & Albion RFC kept their 100% record when they were far too strong for Chard at College Way on Saturday afternoon.

After three minutes good work from the forwards saw Simon Buck open the scoring with an unconverted try. Danny Mahoney extended the lead with a try that Ollie Phillips converted.

Chard got into the game and the next quarter of an hour of play was even. However, on 25 minutes Mason Shaw went over for a try that Phillips converted making it 19-0 to the home side.

The last 10 minutes of the first half saw the Bridgy Boys very much in the ascendancy during which Mahoney scored twice more to bring up his hat-trick, both converted by Phillips.

Two further tries one from Aiden Robinson and the other from Cam Modley both of which Phillips added the extras to saw the score to 47-0 at the break.

The home side continued in the same way after the break

Aiden Robinson scored two further tries to go to his hat-trick, Mahoney crossed for his fourth and Rowan Trainor scored twice all of which were converted by Phillips to make the final score B&ARFC 82 Chard 0.

Team manager Brendon Goddard said: “This was a great team performance from all of the boys and a result that has taken us to the top of the league. Well done Sam Longman who made his debut and had a great game On Saturday the Bridgy Boys are away to second-placed Castle Cary.
