Bridgwater & Albion RFC Second XV under their new manager the experienced Brendan Goddard opened their 2023-24 campaign with an away game against Cheddar Valley.
The hosts started the game very strongly and built a substantial lead. However just before the break the visitors started to put some good moves together and opened their account with a try in the corner from number 10 Roger Drabble.
Away team pushed on after second half
Trailing 50-5 at the interval the visitors started the second half well
and reduced the deficit with further scores from Alex Hannah and George Burtenshaw.
With 15 minutes remaining manager Goddard brought himself on along with Jake Roberts and debutant Tom Gulliford.
In the dying minutes Josh Parker crossed over for a try to earn a bonus point as the game ended 62-20.
