Geoff Looks forward
Bridgwater and Albion First XV manager and Chairman of Rugby Geoff Sluman looked forward to this weekend’s action when Albion travel away to play at Okehampton where they have tended to struggle in the past.
“Currently they are sitting in fifth position in the league which is three places above ourselves but we are eight points ahead, so even a bonus point win on Saturday will not see us climb above them.
“We are already thinking about the weather as that could play a major part as temperatures at Okehampton on Friday night are forecast to be below freezing so we need to prepare for a game on a difficult pitch.
“Okehampton are also having their main pitch relayed so are playing on an alternative pitch that we do not have any experience of.
“However we will travel to Okehampton with confidence knowing that if we perform well we are capable of coming home with a win.”
Geoff went on: “It is also worth noting that our Second XV are improving fast and have put in some really promising performances in recent weeks.
“That definitely puts pressure on selection with many of the players who last week played for the Second XV pushing for a starting place in the First XV.
He added: “The Second XV have a home game to Imperial on Saturday at College Way, kick off 14:15 and entry is free so if you can please go along and support them.”
