Bridgwater and Albion RFC Seconds rounded off their season with a trip to Taunton to face top of the table Huish Tigers at Ash Meadows.  In front of a large crowd they were involved in a humdinger of a match.

The game was keenly fought throughout and the final result was in contention right up until the final whistle.  In the end it was Huish Tigers who ran out the winners and will be promoted for next season.

The visitors got off to a strong start and took the lead when Shaun Mahoney ran from almost half way before scoring a try which Dan Page converted.

Bridgwater & Albion RFC extended their league

On 25 minutes Bridgwater extended their lead when Shaun Mahoney crashed over from close range following a driving maul.

Just before the break Huish had a player carded and at half time Bridgwater led  12-0.

Huish came out hard from the interval. Following a good move across their backs looked to have scored a try, but it was held up.

The hosts kept on the attack and after 15 minutes their pressure was rewarded when fleet footed winger Isaac Zeregbe touched down for a try behind behind the posts to which Adam Coles added the extras.

Page slotted home a penalty

Bridgwater extended their lead when Page slotted home a penalty making the score 15-7.

Huish then stepped up a gear and within five minutes Tom Millship scored an unconverted try running to the line from a long way out which brought the hosts to within three points of Bridgwater.

The home side took the lead when Joe Bussell ,playing against his former ,team scored a try which Coles converted. With seven minutes remaining Bridgwater had a player yellow carded  and when Coles slotted home a close range penalty at 22-15 the game looked over.

However Bridgwater were far from done and mounted one last attack. With two minutes remaining they worked the ball down the left before  Graham Slorance crashed over for a try which had it been converted would have levelled the scores.

As it was the conversion was narrowly missed and game ended Huish Tigers 22- Bridgwater and Albion Seconds 20.
