JIMMY MUNN – AN OUTSTANDING OPPONENT
Rugby Footballers in the Bridgwater area will be sad to have heard the news that Jimmy Munn has passed away recently. Jimmy was a stalwart of the Morganians Club for many years and particularly galvanised their side when times got tough with numbers decreasing. He held them together and ensured that there was continuity. He will have been delighted that the club has now achieved its centenary in 2021.
Jimmy was a marauding back row forward always putting pressure on the opposition backs and carried the ball well in attack. He was part of the formidable pack which was a match for most sides.
His son Will was a Colt with Bridgwater & Albion and also made his way in to the 1st XV – he actually appeared at training earlier this season. He has also previously assisted Morganians.
Jimmy enjoyed his cricket at Wembdon CC during the summer months and was a regular visitor in the 2021 season.
He will be sadly missed and Bridgwater & Albion and rugby football generally sends its sincere condolences to his family.
