| 05/11/2016

Away wins don’t come much better than this for Bridgwater who travelled to Kingsbridge on Saturdayt where they scored five tries to come away with a 35-8 victory.
This was Bridgy’s best performance on the road and the heaviest defeat Kingsbridge have suffered at home this season.
The South Devon side won the toss and opted to kick down the hill with the breeze behind them.
The first 20 minutes were very evenly contested but in the end it was Kingsbridge who took the lead with a George Banfield try that was unconverted.
Stuart Heal kicked a penalty to open the Bridgwater scoring before a Taylor Buller try put the visitors ahead.
Kingsbridge levelled the score before the break with a George Jones penalty which made it 8-8 at half time.
The second half saw Bridgwater very much in the ascendancy as they made full use of the conditions and spent most of their time camped in Kingsbridge territory.
The Bridgwater pressure rewarded when Brad Field scored a snipers try from short range which Heal converted. The visitors were dominant in the scrum and following several collapses a penalty try was awarded that Heal converted.
Bridgwater were in full flow by now and Field scored a drop goal before Heal kicked another penalty.
They fourth try came when Mickey Norman picked up from a close range scrum and went over for try that was unconverted.
Bridgwater saved their best until near the end when Luke Plummer found space and ran with the ball before passing onto Rob Allen who eventually off loaded to Sam Britton who ran in to score a classic winger’s try from 22 metres to seal the 38-8 vistory.
