RIP Chris Spencer and Rex Ball

| 05/11/2021

CHRISTOPHER SPENCER

The club has received the sad news that Christopher Spencer has passed away earlier this week.  Chris was the Senior Partner at Pardoes Solicitors for many years and had assisted the club in that capacity in connection with various commercial matters which have arisen over the years.  He also served on our committee lending his knowledge of the legal system and contacts within the Bridgwater area to the benefit of the club generally.  He was also a supporter of our matches.

REX BALL

Rex Ball has also passed away.  He was the brother of the late Colin Ball – a fine player for Bridgwater & Albion in the 1950’s and 1960’s.  Rex however has left a legacy at College Way as if you go up the stairwell in the clubhouse then you will see dark red carving simulating the game of rugby football and its ball.  Rex carved this from the bar which was rescued from the Broadway Ground when the club moved to College Way in 1994.  It is one of the last remaining relics from the old days and we were grateful for Rex’s efforts in preserving this.

Bridgwater & Albion sends its sincere condolences to the families of both of these supporters and thanks them for their efforts on behalf of the club.
