| 08/12/2024

Along with most other local sporting activities Storm Darragh put paid to all of Bridgwater and Albion’s rugby fixtures at the weekend, which meant the postponement of the First XIs home game against Cinderford Seconds.

The match against the Western Counties (North) basement side will now take place on Saturday 25th January, 2025.

The Albion’s senior side are next in action on  Friday 13th December when they host Chard under floodlights kick off 7.30pm

The South Somerset side are currently ninth in the table with 19 points, from their 10 games three of which they have won.

The Albion are two places below Chard with nine points from the same number of matches one of which they have triumphed in.

When the two sides met back in September it was Chard who squeezed home by the narrowest of margins- 26-25 in a game that could have gone either way until the end.

In Chard’s most recent game against Taunton Seconds on November 30th it was Taunton who ran out the winners 21-13.

After Wellington Seconds cried off of their fixture against Bridgwater and Albion Seconds on 30th November and then their game at Somerton was  also postponed the Bridgy Boys will be hoping for a return to action when they are away to Hornets on Saturday 14th December.

The Albion’s Third XV recently enjoyed a 26-22 home success over Morganians and travel to Tor on Saturday  before hosting Weston Thirds on 21st December.

Bridgwater Women’s XV are next in league action when they travel to play away at Okehampton on 15th December.
