The sad demise of local rugby football club stalwarts continues with the recent news that John McBain of Morganians & Adrian (Andy) Sendell of North Petherton  have both passed away in the last week.

John was President of Morganians for many years and together with his wife Andrea and son Jeremy sustained the club through some difficult periods.  He also played for the club for a long period and would have been delighted with Morganians’ excellent 2019/20 season which sees them atop Somerset 2 South.  A few years ago John enjoyed a memorable weekend at Twickenham as SCRFU “Value the Volunteer” where he was able to meet one of his heroes Jason Leonard.

Andy was also a long term President of his club and in particular oversaw the relocation of NPRFC from Shovel Park and The Swan pub to Beggars Brook. Again a player and referee and ace supporter he gave his all for the club as well as a few liquid supplies available from his rep job with Bulmers.

Great rugby football men both. Bridgwater & Albion RFC salutes them both and offers its sincere condolences to both clubs & the families of John & Andy.
