BARFC 3, Weston 34 (10/09/16)

| 11/09/2016

Match report by Richard Walsh

After getting off to a good start last week Bridgwater came down to earth with a bump when they faced a strong Weston side who scored five tries to run out comfortable winners when the two sides met at College Way.

Kicking off with the wind after five minutes the visitors took the lead through a James MacKay penalty soon after which Weston stretched their lead with a try from Danny Selman that outside half MacKay converted to make it 10-0 after as many minutes.

Bridgwater tried to settle themselves but Weston kept creating pressure and they were rewarded after 23 minutes when a Harry Jones try that MacKay converted stretched the visitors lead even further.

Weston kept coming forward and scored their third try of the half when Glenn Dickson crossed for an unconverted try which made the score 22-0 at the interval.

The hosts eventually got themselves onto the scoreboard when Stuart Heal slotted home a penalty four minutes after the re-start.

Dangerman MacKay scored Weston’s fourth try of the game on 12 minutes which he also converted.

The visitors weren’t done yet and with quarter of an hour remaining on the clock Dixon went over for his second try of the afternoon that went unconverted.

This was a strong all round performance by Weston who’s attack was spearheaded by MacKay who looked really impressive throughout.
