Bridgwater & Albion RFC 2nd XV 77 – 6 Wiveliscombe RFC 2nd XV

Bridgwater and Albion RFC Seconds made it back to back wins when they beat Wiveliscombe at College Way on Saturday afternoon.

The Bridgy Boys were too strong for their West Somerset visitors and at the end of the game they ran out the convincing 77-6 winners.

The home team made a great start when early on Ethan Trebble- Westlake went over for the opening try that Ollie Phillips converted. Next up good work from the forwards ended with Will Kerry scoring an unconverted try to make the score 12-0.

The visitors then got themselves onto the scoreboard when they slotted home two  penalties to reduce the arrears.

Bridgwater won a penalty on their 22 metre line which Phillips kicked to touch to win a line out from which  Aidan Robinson went over for a try. Just before half time Phillips went over for a try which he then converted to make it 24-6 at the break.

After the interval Finley White came on has hooker and James Palmer as prop.

The hosts extended their lead  when Trebble- Westlake went over for his second try of the game.

Jay Owens came off the bench to score a try that Phillips converted. Dan Lang joined the party and scored  before Trebble- Westlake, went over for his hat-trick to make it 46-6.

More good work from the forwards resulted in Ben Howden scoring a try. Owens made a good break through the middle before scoring his second try which Phillips converted.

Will Kerry then went over for his second which was the try of the day that . Phillips converted to make it 65-6. Tom Hopkins then produced a brilliant 55 metres run which he rounded off with a try.

In the dying minutes Phillips went over for his second try of the day that was converted by Kerry to make the final score 77-6.

This result sees the Albion move up to ninth place in the table and this coming Saturday  afternoon they host second place North Petherton in the local derby fixture so why not go along and cheer the Bridgy Boys on.
