CAROL NORMAN – ALBION MOURNS LOSS OF ACE SUPPORTER

| 04/08/2023

In the last few days, Bridgwater & Albion has received the sad news that Carol Norman has passed away on 30 July.  She was suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease and finally lost her battle with her family in close proximity.

Carol – in company with her husband Rex – who had played rugby football for Taunton and Bridgwater Police – was a regular supporter at the club, particularly when her late son David Norman was performing in our teams – he was a sad loss to us in March 2020 whilst still in the midst of his playing career.  She was often accompanied by daughter Sally and her husband Jake and we all enjoyed some convivial evenings after matches in the back bar – the players’ bar – which at the time was the fulcrum of the club’s after match activities.  Many entertaining evenings were enjoyed.  Carol also ventured on a Dirtrackers’ away trip to Martock in February 2000 which she clearly found to her liking.  The team was delighted to have her support and those of other travelling guests.

Carol also assisted the administration of the club when in the late 1990’s she served on the committee as assistant Treasurer just after the club had moved from the Broadway Ground to College Way.

Bridgwater & Albion extends its sincere condolences to Rex, Sally and Jake and their families.
