OLIVER STRAWBRIDGE

| 08/01/2020

Younger members of the club and those involved in our Colts organisation over the last 15 years or so will be saddened to have learnt of the death of Oliver (Oli) Strawbridge at the age of 30 on 23 December.

Oli loved his rugby football and was involved with our Mini, Junior and Youth groups right up to Colts XV.  He was a dedicated trainer and player and always on hand and available to appear for the club.  In this, he was always well supported by his parents Nigel and Heather.

Oli enjoyed all that he did and he also had a sense of community spirit serving the village of Puriton as a local councillor.  I last saw him on the check-out at Sainsburys where he was carrying out his duties jovially and with great regard for his customers.

No doubt our current players of his age and those who were involved in the junior/youth section earlier will well recall his excellent efforts to play and enjoy the game of rugby football.   He will be sadly missed and the club sends its sincere condolences to Nigel and Heather and other members of the Strawbridge family.

Oli’s funeral takes place at Puriton Parish Church at 2 pm on Friday 10 January.
