RIP GORDON (SHAVER) COOMBES

BRIDGWATER & ALBION RFC SAD TO LOSE ACE AND LONG TIME SUPPORTER – GORDON (SHAVER) COOMBES

Bridgwater & Albion RFC was sad to receive the news of Gordon (Shaver) Coombes’ death on 18 April at the age of 85.  He was a long time Albion supporter at both the Taunton Road and College Way Grounds and enjoyed watching the games and joining in the social activities afterwards.  He originally hailed from Moorlinch and latterly lived in Bridgwater.  When his mobility was compromised a few years ago, he reverted to his electric scooter which enabled him to zip up and down the club environs to maintain his support.

The club sends its sincere condolences to Shaver’s family and thank him for his wholehearted support over many years.

The funeral will take place on 16 May at 12 pm at Sedgemoor Crematorium.
