Yeovil Second XV 63-12 Bridgwater & Albion RFC 3rd XV

Bridgwater & Albion RFC Third XV made the journey to South Somerset to play against Yeovil Seconds at the end of which it was the home side who ran out the comfortable winners.

Unfortunately, the Albion were only able to field 14 players.  Yeovil side who took full advantage of the situation and ran in nine converted tries.

Yeovil opened the scoring in the first 10 minutes with a converted try. Albion responded strongly and after working their way deep into home territory were awarded a penalty.  This saw Simon Buck crash over for a try, which Dan Page converted to level the scores.

Bridgwater lost player to injury

Albion then lost a player to injury.  Before half time Yeovil scored a further three tries making it 28-7 at the interval.

In the first quarter of an hour of the second half  Albion defended well and kept the hosts at bay before Yeovil scored a further two tries in quick succession, both converted.

The visitors weren’t done.  Buck took advantage of a loose lineout throw and went over for his second try of the game.

Yeovil then kept the ball moving and took advantage of the space and ran out the winners 63-12.

Albion may well have been beaten but the players kept fighting right up until the end despite their numeric disadvantage.

Bridgwater & Albion RFC Team News

Both the First and Second XVs are without a fixture on Saturday but the  Albion Thirds who are 10th in the league are in action against Burnham on Sea Seconds who currently occupy seventh place in the table.

Of the last 17 meetings between the two sides the outcomes have been almost equal with the Albion triumphing on eight occasions and Burnham  nine, so a close game is in prospect.
