BARFC 41 – Barnstable 0

| 26/02/2018

BARFC U18 girls travelled to play Barnstaple.

The volume on the bus on the way down was a practice for the return journey.

Arriving early to find the opposition already warming up, resplendent in some seriously impressive kit, we set about our usual, unhurried warm up!

Despite a narrow loss to the mighty Crediton recently, from the off this looked unlikely to be Barnstaple’s day with our powerful forwards making gains at will, the back row and others causing mayhem and turning ball over at leisure.

The scrum was, as always a particularly fruitful area, forcing the ref to insist on uncontested scrums in the second half to save the opposition any more pain.

Five tries for the force of nature that is otherwise known as Sarah Cavill and one a piece for Phoebe Alderwick and Mya Andrews.

Three conversions for Sarah adding to the final score of 0-41.

Ref blew up 4 mins early as yet another opposition player lay dazed on her try line trying valiantly to stop Sarah’s fifth try.

An exhibition of pure power from the girls, most of whom have two full seasons left.

The bus journey back was not for the feint of heart, or those that blush easily!

Gotta love them.
