Weston Hornets 48 – BARFC 22

| 25/02/2018

Reflecting on the game at Hornets the BARFC director of rugby Geoff Sluman said: “As we expected this was a tough game against a side who are used to playing in the league above us.

“We competed well and played well for the first half but ultimately they were a bit bigger and bit more physical at the break down than we were. However it showed that there is nothing for us to be afraid of in that league and we can most definitely compete with side that play in it.

“It was a good run out but we were disappointed by the score. Of course it would have been nice to have got through to the final but these games are also about giving a father and son- Jerry and Ollie Phillips the chance to come on and make their first team debuts for Bridgwater together.

“However we were not disappointed because we learned that we can compete with a side from the next league up.Our players held their own and did a good job.”

Geoff added: “Once again it was great to see so many Bridgwater supporters making the trip to Weston to cheer the lads on- they really do make .”
