Bridgwater & Albion RFC 13- Crediton RFC 31

Bridgwater & Albion RFC slipped to another disappointing defeat when they were beaten at home by creative Crediton side.  They ran the ball well.  Prior to this game had won both of their matches.

This was an improved performance on their previous game at Chard and there was much more fluency in Bridgwater and Albion play.  Although they competed well at crucial times, mistakes were made which the visitors took advantage of.

The hosts started well with both Jake Knight back at scrum half.  Richard Bright very much to the fore and in the seventh minute Stuart Heal kicked a penalty.

Crediton countered strongly but the home defence held firm.

However on 17 minutes a crossfield move found centre Clark who went over for a try.  Avery-Wright converted to put the visitors into the lead.

Five minutes later a break by debutant Leigh Parker took the home side deep into Crediton territory.  This was followed up by another move involving Knight and Will Kerry and resulted in a penalty which Heal slotted home.

Once again Crediton came back strongly.  On 27 minutes they extended their lead when second row forward Jenkins ran in for a try.  Avery-Wright added the extras to.

Pass from George Sluman

On the half hour mark a pass from George Sluman found Will Kerry in space and he went over for a try.  Heal converted,  which was the final score of the half which ended 13-14.

Bridgwater & Albion RFC started strongly but the visitors withheld the pressure and found touch with a long kick and from the ensuing line out the ball was bundled over the line and prop forward Cole touched down for a try.

A period of even play followed when neither side was able to create a scoring opportunity until on the 65th minute Crediton second row forward Courtier went over for a try which Avery-Wright converted making the scoreline 13-26.

Knight was ever alert and soon took the hosts back into Crediton territory looking for a losing bonus point. However in the end it was Crediton who had the final score when scrum half Brady scored an unconverted try to make the final score Bridgwater & Albion 13- Crediton -31.
