U18 Match Report
Match report.
Chard U18 girls 0
Bridgwater and Albion U18 girls 86
U18, today we travelled to Chard, not really knowing what to expect.
We’ve been there before in the U15 days and lost heavily, so it was a pleasant surprise to find that we totally outgunned them in all aspects of the game.
The match was a bit unstructured as they had two girls stuck in London after missing a train, and another involved in a car accident on her way to Chard.
Happily, she’s absolutely fine!
However, you can only play what’s put in front of you and we were missing a number of excellent players ourselves!
For all that Chard were certainly “feisty” and never gave up.
Today was, to be honest a bit of a miss match, but the offloading out of contact and the support running was totally brilliant, set piece was awesome, and it was lovely to see our backs making hay with some space outside to work with.
For me though, in a game littered with so many outstanding performances, how nice to see two of the newer girls playing so well!
Lauren Power playing at prop, scoring a wingers try and Charlotte Baum, another front row, just being awesome in attack and defence, again!
Also, when you have issues with the ref pinging you, you quickly held a meeting, identified the problem, and worked out how to solve it with zero input from the coaches, that’s experience and maturity.
Total team performance ladies, score was irrelevant really!
Well played each and every one of you.
