Bridgwater & Albion RFC Second XV 89 – 14 Tor

Cam Hellier scored 44 points as Bridgwater & Albion RFC Seconds bounced back to winning ways with a convincing victory over Tor at College Way on Saturday afternoon.

In the second minute, as the hosts were moving the ball, there was an interception.  Tor scored a try between the posts.  This was converted,  putting them ahead.  Five minutes later, however, Albion made amends with a long pass in midfield.  Taylor Galloway sent over in the corner, and Hellier converted to level the scores.

Following two penalties, both kicked into touch, the Albion pack drove.  Alex Knight scored a try, which Hellier again converted.

Tor hit back as their forwards powered to the line and scored a try that was converted, levelling to score at 14-14.

Three minutes later, Hellier ran through the middle of the field and supported by the forwards, Ethan Trebble-Westlake scored a try.  The trusty boot of Hellier duly converted.

From 25 minutes on, it was all Albion as Will Clapham picked up the ball and kicked ahead before taking it on the bouce and going over for a fine solo try.  Hellier added the extras to make it 28-14.  From the kick-off, Clapham started another move, which ended with Tom Hopkins scoring a try.  Hellier duly converted.  Albion were now attacking throughout and in the 31st minute gained a five metre scrum from which Joe Bussell picked up and burst over, which Hellier converted.  Just before the break, Tor countered well but a loose kick gave Albion the ball and Hellier finished off some great handling by the backs to score and convert making it 49-14 at half time.

Trebble-Westlake burst into the Tor 22 and when held released Hellier to score a try.  He also converted.

For just over quarter of an hour there was a lull in the scoring before Hellier picked up the ball from a scrum and burst over.  In the 72 minutes, Hopkins received the ball 45 metres out and held off would-be tacklers to score.  On this occasion, the try was not converted.

With five minutes to go Roger Drabble broke clear and unselfishly passed inside to Hellier who completed the job with a try and conversion.  In the final Minutes as Tor were trying to run the ball out of defence, Karolis Urbonas stole the ball and scored a final try.  Hellier converted to make the final score 89-14.
